White Crane Tai Chi

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese discipline which exercises the body and mind. The pattern or form is a sequence of flowing movements. When practiced it can improve co-ordination, flexibility in muscles and joints, improving concentration and discipline by relieving stress and tension and increasing awareness. Breathing exercises improve the lungs, reducing high blood pressure, increasing blood circulation and improve stamina and energy. Tai chi depends on awareness and sensitivity, rather then strength and speed. The movements also teach self-defence.

North London Community Acupuncture Clinic

Andrew Levy is a second generation acupuncturist: his father practised 5-element acupuncture during the 1980-90’s.  He was brought up with acupuncture and Chinese medicine around him for most of his early years.

When it came to a change in career Andrew first gravitated towards Tuina (Chinese massage) due to someone telling him that he had ‘healing hands’.  However he soon realised that what he was learning was very similar to acupuncture theory and with his background decided to do acupuncture as well.

After achieving a Higher National diploma in Chinese medicine from the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and finishing the Tuina course in 2011, he decided to study at degree level and achieved an Acupuncture degree from the University of East London, attaining a First.   To consolidate his achievements he then went and studied for a diploma at Nanjing University, China.

After qualifying in Tuina Andrew helped set up and run Phoenix Tuina Multibed Clinic in Old Street.  He now integrates both Tuina and Acupuncture into his practise. He assisted at Kai Clinic in Tufnell Park for 5 years until its close and volunteered at Shoreditch Spa for over a year.  He is now resident at Amber Health in Baldock, Clerkenwellbeing in Clerkenwell and also runs his own practise in Kentish Town.

Homeopathy for Healthy Living

HOMEOPATHY is an established system of complementary medicine that uses remedies made from natural substances to treat illness. Homeopathic medicines work by providing a powerful stimulus to the healing mechanisms of the body. They support the body to heal, rather than mask or suppress the symptoms. Homeopathic treatment strengthens the body and acts preventively as well as curatively. The aim is to relieve symptoms permanently, so that no ongoing treatment is necessary. Homeopathic medicines are non-addictive and do not cause toxic side-effects.

Homeopathy has an extensive historic and world wide record of effectively treating of a wide range of health problems, from acute illnesses to chronic conditions, physical as well as emotional and mental problems of all kinds. Common conditions frequently seen in the clinic include recurrent infections, digestive disorders, respiratory complaints, hormonal problems, skin conditions, sleep disturbances, mental health issues, and much more.

Aurora Yaacov is a fully trained and registered classical homeopath. She has been working in full time homeopathic practice for 15 years and is committed to facilitating access to homeopathic treatment to all those who want to experience this wonderful system of healing.

Baby Massage Classes

Baby massage classes with Kirsty are fun and informal. The emphasis is on providing a relaxed environment in which you can learn the massage strokes and also have the space and flexibility to attend to your baby’s needs, whether that be feeding them, changing them or letting them sleep.

Classes are usually held once a week for 5 weeks and last between one hour and 90 minutes. Each week we will learn how to massage a new part of your baby’s body, building up to a full massage routine. You will also learn a gas and colic routine which provides relief for the symptoms of gas and colic. If you miss any portions of the class there will be the opportunity to go over any strokes you may have missed as we review the strokes each week.

Rhymes and songs are included to keep the class fun and the babies engaged. We will also cover various topics such as when is the best time to massage your baby and how to interpret their cues. The class will end with a chance to discuss a parenting topic. click for more details on my website
