Mabel makes music such fun for toddlers
Over the summer we have had the pleasure of giving Mabel’s Monsters a home whilst the Library was refurbished. We are now pleased to announce that Mabel’s blend of singing, dancing, jumping, clapping, banking shaking, bouncing, listening, instrument exploration, parachute play and bubble popping has now found a new home at Hornsey Vale. This is a specially structured programme that introduces children to rhythms, melodies, storytelling and play. But most of all these sessions are about having fun. The group leader is Cate, who has extensive experience in working with young children. Classes are for the under 5’s and we offer three classes are every Monday – 9.30am for Minor Monsters; 10.15 for Major/Mixed Monsters and 11am for Minor/Mixed Monsters. To celebrate Mabel’s offering a free trial class if you haven’t been before. Call Cate on 07931 973 650 or email her at cate[at]mablesmonsters.com
Karate world leader takes up home at Hornsey Vale
We are very pleased to welcome on of the world’s most popular Karate organisations to the Centre. “Go-Kan-Ryu Karate is a traditional Japanese style of karate. It was founded by Robert Sullivan in 1984 in Adelaide, South Australia. GKR is a non-contact karate, with a heavy emphasis on strong basics: kata (patterns) and kumite (sparring). Since its inception, GKR has grown to become one of the most popular karate organisations in the world, with well over 40,000 in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the USA. Students as young as 5 years of age right through to people well into their seventies can all enjoy the many benefits that training can offer, from learning a self defence, to improving fitness, to gaining confidence and inner security.” Source: www.gkrkarate.com .
